Serving the Homeless Women and Children of the Sun Prairie
SFTSM has re-branded the event to better align with their mission of serving the homeless women and children of the Sun Prairie community. The Hearts for the Homeless event will be focused on sharing the communities love and compassion for our homeless residents. It will further educate the community on SFTSM’s philosophy of helping our residents refocus their lives with a hand up, not a hand out. Our clients and case managers work collaboratively to develop personal goals and a working plan to help our clients reach independence. Our ministry focuses on getting to the root of their homelessness and heal them from the inside out. We not only provide shelter and food for our residents but we also help our mother’s with financial planning, goal setting, parenting classes, success mentoring, career readiness, job search skills, and reflection and prayer time. We have provided over 6,289 nights of shelter and hope for our families.
“We are so excited for the Hearts for the Homeless event this year as God has continued to work and move in the hearts of many at Shelter from The Storm Ministries. The Sun Prairie Community continues to be a key piece to our success and we invite everyone to celebrate with us on February 10th” says Nicole Moll, Executive Director.
Free babysitting provided by the Sun Prairie United Methodist Youth Group. The youth group will be taking optional donations from families to help fund their annual mission trip. In addition, SFTSM will be matching donations raised that evening for the youth group. Babysitting will be open from 3:45 pm to 7:15 pm and will be held at Sun Prairie United Methodist Church, 702 North Street, Sun Prairie, WI. Pre-registration for babysitting is not required and families will be asked to complete a babysitting form when they drop their children off at church.
