About Us
Who We Are
Shelter from the Storm Ministries is a Transitional Living Program for homeless, single mothers and their minor children.
We offer our residents support by providing a safe, stable environment where families can take a breath and regain confidence to grow and thrive. Support includes physical resources, individualized case-management, a faith-based environment, prayer, and community.
Additionally, SFTSM strives to empower mothers. Through our accountability driven programming, SFTSM educates, models, and encourages healthy habit formation and practical knowledge to help pull and keep families out of poverty.
Why We Serve
Shelter From The Storm Ministries exists because the gospel calls us to love our neighbors with compassion and action. We were founded by a group of believers from local churches who were moved by the alarming number of homeless students in our school district. In response, we came together to be a tangible expression of hope. We serve because every mother and child deserves a safe place to heal, grow, and thrive. Our mission is to walk alongside single mothers as they break the cycle of poverty—empowering them to build a stable, hope-filled future for themselves and their children.
Who We Serve
SFTSM clients are homeless, single mothers and their minor children. We welcome families with diverse life experiences and of any faith background. Mothers must be committed to making change and adhering to program requirements..

What We Do

At Shelter From The Storm Ministries, we provide more than just shelter—we offer a path forward. Women and their children are welcomed into our residential program for approximately 12 months, where they receive support, structure, and the opportunity to rebuild. Our holistic approach centers around seven key pillars:
- Education & Employment
- Health & Wellness
- Spiritual Growth
- Legal Support
- Parenting & Relationships
- Financial Literacy
- Life Skills.
We believe in offering a hand-up, not a hand-out. Through personalized case management, each resident works collaboratively with staff to set meaningful goals and create a tailored plan to achieve lasting independence. Our goal is not just to meet immediate needs, but to empower families to thrive long after they leave our care.
